The head of IMC, Maulana Tauqeer Raja, has been apprehended by Bareilly police. This comes after police issued an advisory in which they announced mass arrests following Friday prayers. He proclaimed their right to self-defense and warned of reprisal if attacked. He accused the police and Hindu extreme groups of destroying the nation, launching a campaign against them beginning from Bareilly, which he plans to extend nationwide.
