Pre-Floor Test Drama: Police Investigation and Party Disarray
The outcome, i.e. the floor test, coincided with a dramatic turn of events the day before. Such was the drama that police appeared at the former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav's home to investigate the abduction of a Rashtriya Janata Dal legislator. The Rashtriya Janata Dal continued to work to keep its 79 lawmakers together, However, by Sunday evening, not everyone was on board.

The ruling Janata Dal United faced a similar dilemma. Despite efforts, all 45 of its lawmakers had not gathered in one location by nightfall. The Bharatiya Janata Party completed the voyage from Bodh Gaya to Patna on Saturday and Sunday, but its 78 lawmakers were not all in one spot. Sixteen of the Congress's nineteen members landed in Hyderabad, while the remaining three were said to have arrived at Tejashwi Yadav's residence earlier. Amidst all of this, Sunday night was spent worrying about Monday's floor test, and everyone is now waiting for the morning to exhibit their numbers in the assembly and strive to diminish the opponent's total.
