On July 18, 2023, he launched a refund portal to ensure that anyone involved with Sahara's four societies could access their monies. After claiming, the money would be paid to your bank account associated with Aadhaar within 45 days. Despite claims of distributing monies to 112 account holders 17 days after the portal's start, no one received money nationwide.
Approximately 1.5 crore investors registered, and 2.5 lakh received Rs. 241 crore. In August 2012, the Supreme Court ordered Sahara India to repay investors' money. Despite ten years, only Rs. 138.7 crore has been returned out of a total of Rs. 24,000 crore collected.Sahara accuses SEBI of keeping the money, and Sahara is unable to compensate investors unless SEBI refunds them.
On March 29, 2023, Amit Shah launched a webpage that promised returns within four months. Due to widespread disillusionment among investors, the government activated the Sahara Refund Portal. To view the refund list, go to the Sahara India Refund Portal website.
