Karnataka's captain, Mayank Agarwal, was taken to the hospital shortly before boarding his aircraft to Delhi after getting ill.
The cricket world was shocked on Tuesday evening when Mayank Agarwal, the current team's opening batsman and Karnataka captain, was hospitalized moments before his scheduled trip to New Delhi. Mayank is thought to have unintentionally drank a liquid from a container, believing it to be water, while on an Indigo Airlines trip. According to a PTI report, the Indian cricketer has filed a complaint with the police through his manager for investigation. Mayank Agarwal, an international cricketer, is now stable and his life has returned to normal. Nonetheless, his administration has filed a specific case within the jurisdiction of the NSCIPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) for further investigation," SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar told the news agency. The police gave brief information about the incident. "His boss reported that he was on an airplane with a bottle in front of him. He didn't drink much alcohol, but he suddenly felt bad in his mouth. He couldn't speak, so he was brought to ILS Hospital. He had edema and ulcers in his mouth. Otherwise, his status is stable. Mayank guided Karnataka to a victory over Tripura by 29 runs, and he was scheduled to fly to Gujarat for their next Ranji Trophy match against railways.
However, due to the current situation, the opening batter has been sidelined from playing, and Mayank will be transported to Bengaluru for further treatment. "He (Agarwal) is not in danger." He is currently being monitored in a hospital in Agartala, and we hope to bring him back to Bengaluru tonight after obtaining updates from doctors," Karnataka Cricket Association (KSCA) officials told PTI. Mayank has played 21 Test matches for India but was dropped from the team in 2022 owing to inconsistent performance. The opening batsman was released from the Punjab Kings franchise prior to the previous season and later signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad. His season with the squad was poor, with 270 runs in 10 games.
