Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a popular Pakistani musician, later emphasized that it was a "personal matter between the teacher and the student." The artist tried to deny the viral footage of him allegedly savagely striking someone with a sneaker, claiming the victim was his student.
In the video, the famous Qawwali singer keeps hitting the person and asking about a "bottle." The person insists they have no knowledge about it, and in another part, it looks like others are trying to rescue a student from the singer's grip.
The Pakistani channel Samaa TV recognized the individual as an employee and expressed concern about such violent behavior among singers.
Shri Khan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's nephew, later emphasized that it was a "personal matter between the teacher and the student," and posted a video to back up his claim.
"It is a personal matter between a teacher and a disciple. This is the type of relationship between a guru and his disciple. If a disciple does something nice, I shower him with affection. "If he does something wrong, he will face the result" he stated in the video.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan stated that he had also apologized to the person involved following the event.
