"Mikaela Shiffrin's Dramatic Skiing Mishap: Hospital Evacuation, World Cup Records, and Comebacks"

 Mikaela Shiffrin, an American superstar, was evacuated to the hospital on Friday following an accident during the women's downhill event in Cortina d'Ampezzo. 

The 28-year-old lost control midway through the race and collided with nets around a curve in Italy. The United States sky and snowboard team announced that Shiffrin's evaluation will continue, although her anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments appear to be "intact."
