As soon as the unlawful religious site was approached, residents in the neighboring neighborhoods became agitated and began throwing stones. The police and municipal team were surrounded on all sides. During the stone-throwing, people smashed the GCB and set fire to police jeeps and other vehicles. Strikers blocked the roadways by burning tires in front of them, preventing police from entering. While the police were dealing with the rioters, some of them set fire to the Banbhulpura Police Station. Despite being confined, the police and municipal team managed to escape.
