Abhishek Ghosalkar was brought to Karuna Hospital in Borivali in severe condition and died as a result of his injuries. This event occurred after a BJP legislator raised concerns about the state of law and order in Maharashtra, and a leader of the Eknath Shinde group fired shots that were caught on camera inside Ulhasnagar's police station. Sanjay Raut, leader of the Uddhav Sena, has requested the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in light of the Mumbai shooting incident. Aditya Thackeray, a former Maharashtra minister, claimed that law and order in the state had entirely crumbled.

Abhishek met Aditya Thackeray on Thursday before their meeting in his Worli office.
Abhishek was the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, a former politician in Uddhav's party. He chaired the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board. When the ward was designated for women, Abhishek's wife served as a councilor.
